About Us
The Roosevelt Barber Shop has been serving the men and boys of the greater Des Moines area since 1934. Keeping the passion and authenticity of a true barbershop alive. Since 1934 the Roosevelt Barber Shop has been located in the Shops at Roosevelt (42nd Street and I-235 in Des Moines). It is one of Des Moines oldest barber shops. It has had five owners: Art Harmon, Bob McClaran, Larry Bristow, Rick Adkisson, and Luis Garcia.

Barber
Rick, graduated from Barber School in Des Moines in 1988. After nine years of cutting hair at the Roosevelt Barber Shop, he purchased the shop. Rick is a life-long Iowan and an avid bicyclist. He oversees the Old-Time Barber Shop at the Iowa State Fair. As of June 2022, Rick has decided to sell the shop but keep working in the field he loves at Roosevelt Barber Shop.
